1-(1-Adamantylcarbonyl) proline is a phenylalanine derivative, also known as
adamantylproline or Ad-Pro. It is mainly used as a catalyst or chiral resolution
reagent in organic synthesis. Studies have shown that 1-(1-Adamantylcarbonyl)
proline can catalyze asymmetric nucleophilic addition reactions, such as the
reaction between aldehydes and alkylene azides, the reactions between aldehydes and
sulfuryl folate, the reactions between aldehydes and nitromethane, etc. Among these
reactions, this catalyst has the strongest addition activity to alkylene azides.
1-(1-Adamantylcarbonyl) proline can also catalyze asymmetric amination reactions.
