The basic formula of Methenolone was first published in 1960. In 1962,
Squibb produced the first practical version of the drug for the American
market, namely Methenolone enhate, which was named Nibal depot In the same
year, they introduced oral methenolone, namely, methenolone acetate, which
is sold under the trade name Nibal.
Since Schering had acquired all the rights of Metenolone as early as 1960,
the oral and injectable Metenolone produced by Squibb was restricted.
After that, Schering renamed the oral form of Metenolone acetate Primobolan
and the injectable form of Metenolone ethanthate Primobolan Depot
Due to exclusivity, these two drugs were withdrawn from the US market.
However, the drug is still approved by the FDA for human use in the United
States.
Primobolan is used to treat malnutrition and muscle loss caused by disease,
surgery and infection. Because it increases the synthesis of protein in the
body, thereby accelerating the growth of skeletal muscle.
Due to its low risk of side effects, Primobolan is used to increase the
weight of infants whose weight is lower than the average. It is also
recommended for patients with muscle loss, breast cancer and osteoporosis
after surgery.
