AISI 4130 steel coil is a low alloy steel containing chromium, molybdenum and
medium carbon, which is very similar to 4140 steel. It also has the
characteristics of high strength and toughness, high hardenability, good
weldability and good machinability. AISI 4130 steel has relatively high
requirements for welding and heat treatment. With proper heat treatment, it is
easier to process and has excellent ductility after annealing.

AISI 4130 Steel Coil Application
AISI 4130 steel coil contains chromium and molybdenum as reinforcements and is
easy to weld, critical for fabrication, welding, cutting and other high stress,
high temperature applications. Commonly used in the following industries:

Forging of AISI 4130 steel can be performed at temperatures between 950 °C and
1230 °C (1750 and 2250 ºF). The lower the temperature, the finer the grains
will be. Too low a temperature may affect the uniformity of the structural
section, requiring normalizing before heat treating the steel.
