Captain Shoulder Rank Slide Officer Rank Slides

A Captain Shoulder Rank Slide (also called a rank epaulette slide) is a
fabric slip-on worn on the shoulder straps of military or security uniforms
to indicate the wearer’s rank.

For a Captain, the design generally includes:

Three pips/stars (in armies following the British/Commonwealth system).

In some navies or air forces, three stripes/bars are used instead.

The slides are usually made of durable fabric (camouflage, plain khaki,
black, or navy blue, depending on the uniform).

They are called officer rank slides because they distinguish commissioned
officer ranks from non-commissioned officers (NCOs) or enlisted personnel.
