The technical requirements

1. Brand and chemical composition

The GRADE AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF STEEL FOR GALVANIZED STEEL PIPES SHALL
CONFORM TO THE GRADE AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF STEEL FOR BLACK PIPES
SPECIFIED IN GB/T3091.

2. Manufacturing method

The method of fabrication of black tubes (furnace welding or electric welding)
is chosen by the manufacturer. Galvanizing is done by hot dip galvanizing.

3. Thread and pipe joint

(a) Galvanized steel pipes delivered with threads, the threads shall be made
after galvanizing. Threads shall conform to YB 822.

(b) Steel pipe joints shall comply with YB 238; Malleable cast iron pipe
fittings shall comply with YB 230.

should conform to GB 3091 provisions.

5. The uniformity of galvanized steel pipe should be tested for the uniformity
of galvanized layer. The steel tube sample shall not turn red (copper plating
color) when impregnated in copper sulfate solution for 5 consecutive times.

6. Cold bending test galvanized steel pipe whose nominal diameter is not more
than 50mm should be cold bending test. The bending Angle is 90°, and the
bending radius is 8 times of the outer diameter. Test without filler, sample
weld should be placed in the bending direction of the lateral or upper. After
the test, there should be no cracks on the sample and the same image of the
zinc layer peeling.

7. Hydrostatic test hydrostatic test should be carried out in black pipe, and
eddy current flaw detection can be used instead of hydrostatic test. The size
of the test specimen for pressure or eddy current inspection contrast shall
conform to GB 3092. The mechanical property of steel is an important index to
ensure the final service performance (mechanical property) of steel.
