Your Volvo Brake Disc is the silver piece that your brake pads push to bring
the vehicle to a complete stop. Usually, when you get your brakes repaired, the
discs are in good condition and don't need to be replaced. But other times the
disc has to be turned, a process that scrapes metal around the rotor to make it
smoother. Rotating disc brakes help it get thinner, which can change the
accuracy of its construction.
The first thing you can do to check or diagnose any problem is to apply the
brakes while driving at around 40 miles per hour. If your Volvo is vibrating,
this could be a sign that the front brake discs are thinning. If your vehicle
starts stalling on the steering wheel, this could be a symptom of a warped
disc, which could eventually cause the entire vehicle to shake violently. It's
a good idea to check the wheels and brake discs, the discs should be shiny and
not have any rust. Removing any rust from brake discs is not as easy as you
might think. It might be easier to replace them entirely.
