Key Impacts of Plateau Environment on CZ Pumps and Mitigation Strategies Motor Power and Heat Dissipation Correction The thin air at high altitudes reduces the cooling capacity of electric motors, potentially leading to excessive temperature rise. For CZ pumps with direct drive or coupling transmission, it is necessary to reduce capacity or use high-altitude- specific motors (such as Class F insulation with enlarged heat sinks). Forced ventilation measures should be added when necessary. For standard plainland motors, output power typically requires correction based on altitude when operating above 2,000 meters. Cavitation Margin (NPSH) Verification The atmospheric pressure on the plateau decreases, while the saturated vapor pressure of the liquid relatively increases, leading to a significant reduction in the available net positive suction head (NPSHa). Although the CZ pump has lower cavitation performance indicators, the required net positive suction head (NPSHr) must be recalculated under plateau suction conditions. The pump's installation height must be kept below the critical value to prevent cavitation damage to the impeller. It is recommended to appropriately lower the installation height or increase the suction pipe diameter to reduce resistance losses. Mechanical Seals and Bearing Lubrication Low atmospheric pressure may affect the heat dissipation and lubrication effectiveness of mechanical seals, particularly in bearing housings reliant on oil lubrication (such as dilute oil lubrication systems). During operation at high altitudes, it is necessary to inspect whether the seal cooling system functions properly and verify that the lubricant viscosity is suitable for low-temperature and low-pressure conditions to prevent leaks or bearing overheating. The externally mounted mechanical seal and constant-level oil cup design employed in CZ pumps require adjustments to the sealing pressure balance for high-altitude operating conditions. Selection and Operation Recommendations Material and Structural Selection: Due to significant temperature fluctuations in plateau regions, castings with matching thermal expansion coefficients should be selected for media with extreme temperature variations. The rear-door structure of the CZ pump facilitates maintenance of the impeller and seals without disassembling the pipeline, adapting to field service conditions. Performance parameter matching: Adjust the pump's flow-head curve based on the actual altitude. Although the change in liquid density in high-altitude environments is minimal, variations in gas solubility may affect the stability of conveying gas-containing media. It is necessary to confirm whether the pump type is suitable for gas-containing conditions. Foundation and Support: When installing CZ-type pumps (especially direct-drive models without a base), ensure the foundation is stable. The weight of the suction pipeline must be supported by independent brackets to prevent pump body deformation and intensified vibration
