1. Product Introduction

ASTM A240 / ASME SA240 Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel Plate. ASTM A240
Type 2205, also known as Duplex 2205, UNS S32205 (preferred) or UNS
S31803, is a nitrogen-enhanced duplex stainless steel with a balanced
austenitic-ferritic microstructure. With roughly 22% chromium, 5%
nickel, 3% molybdenum and added nitrogen, it offers high strength -
its yield strength is roughly double that of standard austenitic
grades such as 304 and 316L - together with superior resistance to
chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion
cracking. The higher strength often allows reduced wall thickness and
weight savings in pressure equipment. 2205 has good weldability with
appropriate duplex filler metals and heat-input control, and it is
magnetic because of its ferrite content. It is generally used at
service temperatures below about 300 C. Typical applications include
oil and gas, chemical processing, marine and offshore, pulp and
paper, pollution control and flue gas desulfurisation (FGD), pressure
vessels and heat exchangers, and general industrial equipment.
Available surface finishes include No.1, 2B, 2D, BA, No.4, HL
(Hairline) and 8K Mirror; protective PVC film can be applied on one
or both sides for architectural or specific functional requirements.
Product forms available include plate, sheet, coil, strip, foil,
shim, circle and ring.

2. Standards We Can Supply
ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240 (full compliance). Dimensional tolerances and
flatness follow ASTM A480; equivalent designations: UNS S32205
(S31803) / EN 1.4462 / JIS SUS329J3L / GB 022Cr22Ni5Mo3N. Material
can also be offered against equivalent EN, JIS and GB designations
listed above.

3. Grades We Can Supply
Austenitic: 304, 304L, 304H, 304N, 304LN, 316, 316L, 321, 310S.
Duplex: 2205 (UNS S32205 / S31803). Ferritic: 430. This offer focuses
on 2205; other related A240 plate grades are available on request.

4. Thickness, Width and Length Range
Thickness: 0.5 mm - 80 mm (thicker available). Size: width up to
2000-2500 mm and length up to 12000 mm; custom sizes are available.

5. Processing
Steel cutting services (shearing, precision plasma, laser or waterjet
cutting), slitting, leveling and cut-to-length, steel bending and
forming, steel welding, CNC steel machining and stainless surface
finishing / polishing (No.4, HL, 8K mirror). Edge conditions include
mill edge, slit edge, sheared edge or plasma/laser cut edge according
to customer preference. Width tolerance is typically +6 mm / 0 mm and
length tolerance for cut-to-length material is normally +10 mm / 0
mm; improved flatness and tighter tolerances can be arranged for
precision fabrication.

6. Delivery Time
Stock material: 5-6 days. Normal production orders: 30-40 days.

7. Payment Terms
T/T and L/C accepted; specific payment terms are negotiated per
order.

8. Trade Terms
FOB / CIF / CFR.

9. Delivery Condition
Hot rolled (No.1, heavy plate) and cold rolled (2B/BA, sheet),
supplied in the solution-annealed condition.

10. Quality Assurance
Mill test certificate supplied with every shipment (global export
with full MTCs). Chemical composition and mechanical properties
conform to ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240.
