FBG Strain Sensor

Fiber Bragg gratings are very sensitive to stress and temperature. No matter
whether the FBG is subjected to stress or the ambient temperature changes, it
is reflected in the fiber grating that the grating pitch has changed, that is,
the fiber grating sensor has corresponding strain. This means that when you
want to use FBG strain sensors for accurate testing, you must consider whether
the ambient temperature has changed, you must deduct the effect of temperature
on the reflected wavelength from formula Strain(μɛ)=((λS-λS0)-(λT-λT0)
*KT)/ , Ks, that is to say, let (λT-λT0)=0 or the value of (λT-λT0) is
numerically known, this process is called FBG Temperature Compensation for
Strain sensors.

Types of FBG Strain Sensor
FBG Strain Sensor MS-01/MST-01

Principle and Method of Temperature Compensation for FBG Strain Sensor
The best way for AtGrating to compensate the temperature for the FBG strain
sensor is to inscribe double gratings in one fiber, and then package it into
the FBG strain sensor with temperature compensation, one FBG is used to measure
the strain, and the other is used to measure the strain. Since the strain FBG
and temperature FBG are in the same temperature environment, the temperature
value measured by temperature FBG can be regarded as the temperature of strain
FBG. Hence we can deduct the influence of temperature on the reflected
wavelength from formula Strain(μɛ)=((λS -λS0)-(λT-λT0)*KT)/Ks, so as to
obtain an accurate strain change value.
