Fence Sensors

Intrusion detection sensors are the key to effective perimeter security. Fence-
mounted sensors detect and locate intruders before they enter the fence. The
system is cable, fiber optic, or accelerometer based and works with most fence
types including chain link, welded mesh, steel mesh, and fencing. The sensors
enhance the security value of the fence by detecting attempts to cut, climb or
otherwise breach the fence. Fence sensors are also available for non-standard
fence types as well as interior and exterior walls.
What is a fiber optic fence sensor?
Fiber optic sensors work by transmitting laser pulses into an optical fiber and
accurately measuring the tiny light reflections that occur along its length.
Fiber optic interference caused by fence vibration changes the amount of light
returned from that point. Fiber optic sensors are unaffected by lightning and
electromagnetic interference and require no conductive components or grounding
points in the field.
