The key advantage of high-melting-point Fischer-Tropsch wax in hot-melt
adhesives stems from its highly linear, saturated molecular structure. This
structure endows it with a range of performance characteristics that ordinary
waxes cannot match, making it particularly suitable for applications with
high demands for heat resistance and production efficiency.
High Production Efficiency: Fast Setting, Fast Bonding
The highly linear structure of Fischer-Tropsch wax allows it to crystallize
very quickly. This means that after the hot melt adhesive is applied, it
solidifies rapidly and establishes initial bond strength—commonly referred
to as “fast drying.”
Reduced Process Time: Faster solidification significantly reduces wait times
on the production line, improving production efficiency.
Note the “Open Time”: Due to its rapid solidification, the open time is
relatively short, requiring high-speed production equipment.
