FRP Pultrusion Profile

Pultrusion is a continuous process using fiber reinforcements with
thermosetting resin matrices. Pre-selected reinforcement materials, such as
fiberglass roving, mat, woven fabrics or stitched fabric, are drawn through
a resin bath in which all material is thorougly impregnated with a liquid
thermosetting resin. Typical resins include polyesters, vinyl esters and
phenolics. The wet-out fiber is formed to the desired geometric shape and
pulled into a heated steel die. Once inside the die, the resin cure is
initiated by controlling precise elevated temperature. The laminate
solidifies in the exact cavity shape of the die, as it is continuously
pulled by the pultrusion machine. Most any constant cross-section part can
be pultruded.
Then the product is passed through the mold by the puller clamping mechanism
and cut into the required length with a saw.

Performance characteristics of FRP pultruded profiles
1. Corrosion resistance
The pultruded profile has excellent corrosion resistance, can withstand
various degrees of acid, alkali, organic solvents and salts and other gas
and liquid media corrosion, never rust, according to the actual use of the
medium type and temperature requirements, there are neighbors Benzene type,

2. Lightweight and high strength
The glass fiber content of the pultruded profile is higher than other
composite material forming processes, so the longitudinal strength is quite
high, which is equivalent to that of steel. The density of pultruded profile
is only about one-fourth of that of steel, so the specific strength is much
higher than that of steel. The modulus of pultruded profile is much higher.
It is lower than steel, usually only 1/7-1/10 of steel.
3. Anti-aging
The pultruded profile is made of high-quality thermosetting resin and glass
fiber system, which is different from general thermoplastics, and the normal
service life of the product can reach 20 years. The best anti-aging effect
can be obtained by adding anti-ultraviolet agent and using polyester fiber
felt.
4. Easy to maintain
The pultrusion profile is made by blending the pigment into the resin. The
color of the product can be arbitrarily blended according to customer
requirements. It is not easy to fade, does not require paint maintenance and
has a self-cleaning effect.
5. Excellent electromagnetic performance
The pultruded profile has excellent electrical insulation, no
electromagnetism and electric sparks, and can be used in equipment areas
where there is a risk of electrical conduction and sensitive to magnetism,
as well as in flammable and explosive places.
6. Thermal performance
Pultrusion profile is a kind of thermal insulation material with a much
lower coefficient of thermal expansion than ordinary plastics. Pultrusion
has excellent mechanical properties at low temperatures and will not melt at
high temperatures, but its strength and modulus will be reduced to a certain
extent at high temperatures. , Generally, the applicable temperature range
of pultruded profiles is -50℃-100℃.
