Gorgets Patches
Gorget patches, also known as collar patches or gorget insignia, are distinctive emblems worn on the collars of military or ceremonial uniforms. Historically, they originated from the medieval gorget — a piece of armor protecting the throat — and over time evolved into symbolic insignia denoting rank, branch, or unit affiliation.
Description:
Design: Usually made of cloth, embroidery, or metallic thread, gorget patches are placed on both sides of the collar. Their shape and color vary according to regiment, corps, or service branch.
Military Use: Widely adopted in armies such as the German Wehrmacht, Soviet Red Army, and modern militaries, where they serve as identifiers for units and ranks.
Ceremonial Use: In Freemasonry, police, and other formal organizations, gorget patches are often decorated with bullion embroidery or silk to reflect status and tradition.
Symbolism: They indicate authority, heritage, and organizational identity, making them both functional and decorative parts of a uniform.
Minimum Order: 100 pieces
