Beeswax primarily serves as a thickener, setting agent, emulsifying
stabilizer, film-forming agent, and moisturizer in cosmetics; it is a classic
ingredient in creams, lipsticks, hair wax, and eyebrow wax.
Lipstick/Lips: Provides structure to prevent the formula from becoming too
soft or collapsing, while forming a lightweight protective film to reduce
moisture loss from the lips.
Creams/Ointments: As an oil-phase thickener, it helps maintain stability
after oil and water are emulsified, preventing the product from running too
much when applied.
Hair wax/clay: Provides hold and a certain amount of shine; it is more
flexible than pure wax and does not break easily when bent.
