conditions by special etherification and preparation.White or whitish powder.
HPMC powder decreases with the decrease of methoxide content, increase of gel
point, decrease of water solubility and decrease of surface activity.
Description:
Hebei Yibang Building Materials Co., Ltd.’s hpmc powder can be dissolved in
some organic solvents and water-organic solvent mixed solvents. It does not
have gelling properties when heated. Hpmc powder is a kind of cotton and wood
raw material that is non-toxic to humans. Hpmc powder is hygroscopic when dry,
but stable. Its solution is stable at pH 3-11. As the temperature increases,
the viscosity of the solution decreases. Heating and cooling can reversibly
transform the Hpmc powder from a solution state to a gel state. According to
different grades and concentrations, the gelation temperature is 50~90℃. Hpmc
powder has anti-enzyme effect as an aqueous solution and maintains good
viscosity stability during long-term storage. However, its aqueous solution is
susceptible to microbial attack, so preservatives should be added during
storage. When Hpmc powder is used as a thickener for eye drops, benzalkonium
chloride is usually added as a preservative.
