Incoloy 800HT Alloy Bar Rod for High Temperature Heat Exchangers and Furnac

Incoloy 800 HT bar is an ultra-high purity, neutron-resistant material designed
for extreme radiation and thermal shock environments. Engineered to meet the
rigorous demands of nuclear fusion, space propulsion, and advanced reactor
technologies, this high-performance nickel-iron-chromium superalloy is
optimized for use in critical applications requiring enhanced thermal stability
and radiation resistance.

Key Features of Incoloy 800H T Bar
Neutron Damage Tolerance: With a He/dpa ratio <10 appm/0.1 dpa at 650°C (14
MeV neutrons), Incoloy 800HT exhibits exceptional resistance to neutron damage,
making it ideal for nuclear fusion and space applications.

Plasma Erosion Resistance: The alloy’s sputtering yield is reduced by 60%
compared to 316L in deuterium plasma, providing excellent resistance to plasma
erosion in fusion reactors.

Helium Embrittlement Resistance: Nano-oxide dispersion technology traps helium
bubbles, maintaining more than 15% elongation post-irradiation, crucial for
long-term service in neutron-rich environments.

Thermal Shock Stability: Incoloy 800HT withstands 500 cycles of 200°C/s
heating/cooling rates without cracking, ensuring reliable performance in
extreme thermal conditions.

Ultra-High Vacuum Compatibility: The outgassing rate is less than 1×10⁻¹¹
Torr·L/s/cm² after a 400°C bake-out, making it suitable for semiconductor
applications and other UHV environments.

Surface Finish: Mirror-polished finish with a surface roughness (Ra ≤ 0.1 μm)
and passivation according to ASTM A967, ensuring corrosion resistance and
enhanced durability.
Applications of Incoloy 800HT Bar
Incoloy 800HT bar is specifically designed for applications in industries that
demand superior resistance to high radiation, extreme thermal shock, and other
challenging conditions:

Nuclear Fusion: The material is used in first-wall heat sink components in
ITER-like tokamaks, handling heat fluxes of up to 10 MW/m² in divertor cassette
supports.

Space Propulsion: Incoloy 800HT is ideal for nuclear thermal rocket (NTR) fuel
element cladding, which must withstand hydrogen compatibility at temperatures
of 2500°C, and for re-entry vehicle leading edges subjected to hypersonic
glide conditions.

Advanced Reactors: The alloy is used in molten salt reactor (MSR) pump shafts,
where compatibility with LiF-BeF₂ coolant is critical.

Semiconductor Industry: Essential for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography
chamber components that require ultra-high vacuum stability and resistance to
thermal stresses.
