Lepidolite

Lepidolite
Lepidolite is the most common lithium mineral and an important mineral for
refining lithium. It is a basic aluminosilicate of potassium and lithium,
which is one of the mica minerals. Lepidolite is generally only produced in
granite pegmatite, the color is purple and pink and can be light to colorless,
with pearl luster, in the form of short cylinders, small sheet aggregates or
large plate crystals. We have lepidolite for sale.
The main component of lithium mica , the main component is KLI for 1.5 of
Al for 1.5 [an AlSi. 3 O 10 ] (F., OH) 2, containing Li 2 O is 1.23-
5.90%, often containing rubidium and cesium. Monoclinic system. It is often a
fine scale-like assembly. The nature hardness is 2-3, the specific gravity is
2.8-2.9, and the bottom cleavage is very complete. The color is purple and
pink and can be light to colorless, with pearl luster, and it is a short
cylinder, small sheet assembly or large plate crystal. Lepidolite has the
general cleavage of mica and purple to pink color. When melted, it can foam
and produce a deep red lithium flame. Insoluble in acid, but after melting, it
can also be affected by acid. Application of lepidolite is one of the main
raw materials for extracting rare metal lithium. Lepidolite usually contains
rubidium and cesium and is also an important raw material for extracting these
rare metals. Lithium is the lightest metal with a specific gravity of 0.534.
It can produce lithium-6 required for thermonuclear. It is an important fuel
for hydrogen bombs, rockets, nuclear submarines, and new jet aircraft. Lithium
can absorb neutrons and act as control rods in atomic reactors. It is used as a
red luminous agent for signal bombs and flares in military affairs and as a
thick lubricant for aircraft. In metallurgy, light alloys made of lithium and
pure agents for metal products are used.
