Microcrystalline wax 80A used for thickener

Microcrystalline wax is a commonly used thickener, which mainly utilizes its
characteristics of high melting point, high viscosity, and strong gel
strength to thicken, densify, and stabilize the structure in systems such as
lubricating grease and ointment. ‌‌
Grease and Vaseline: Microcrystalline wax is often used to manufacture
hydrocarbon-based grease for instruments and sealing purposes, as well as
thickeners for Vaseline-type products, due to its high gel strength, good
adhesion, and excellent protective properties.
Pharmaceutical Ointments and Creams: As a hardening agent in topical creams
and ointments, it can also reduce oil leakage from wax mixtures; with a
higher melting point and greater melt viscosity than paraffin, it can
increase the consistency of the formulation.
