Microcrystalline wax for cup candle processing

In cup wax processing, microcrystalline wax delivers four key benefits:
Strong anti-cup separation: This is the wax's primary function. It enhances
adhesion between the wax body and glass cup walls, effectively preventing
separation or loosening after the candle cools and contracts.
Reduced shrinkage: With its inherently low shrinkage rate, incorporating
microcrystalline wax into formulations minimises volume contraction during
solidification, resulting in smoother cup wax surfaces.
Enhanced Appearance: Its rich branched structure helps ‘lock in’ fragrances
and pigments, promoting more uniform colouration and reducing the occurrence
of ‘snowflaking’ or oil separation on the wax surface.
Increased Toughness: Unlike the brittle nature of paraffin wax,
microcrystalline wax possesses excellent flexibility, making the final cup
candle product less prone to cracking.
