Microcrystalline wax used for packaging and papermaking

In the packaging and papermaking industries, microcrystalline wax is
primarily used as a coating agent, impregnating agent, and paraffin modifier,
imparting moisture resistance, oil resistance, anti-adhesion properties,
flexibility, and heat-sealability to paper.‌‌
‌Moisture and Oil Barrier‌: When applied to the surface of packaging paper, it
forms a dense layer that blocks the penetration of water vapor and oils.
‌Improved Physical Strength‌: When added as a paraffin modifier, it enhances
the paper’s resistance to bending, plasticity, and flexibility, preventing
brittle fracture at low temperatures. It is suitable for corrugated cardboard
and flexible packaging materials.
‌Heat Sealing and Anti-Stick Properties‌: It provides an appropriate heat
sealing temperature window for use in barrier coatings for composite
packaging; it also imparts anti-stick properties to the surface, facilitating
easy peeling.
‌Appearance and Printing Optimization‌: Increases the gloss of the paper
surface; in some cases, it is used as an ink additive to enhance print
clarity and adhesion.‌‌
