Micronized wax used as plasticizer

Micronized wax may serve as plasticisers, primarily employed in plastic
processing applications. They function to enhance flow properties and improve
surface finish. Specific application scenarios are outlined below:
Plastic Processing
Micronized wax (such as oxidized polyethylene wax) serve as release agents
and lubricants in plastics processing. Their addition enhances mould release
efficiency and surface smoothness of finished products. For instance, during
polypropylene spinning or polyethylene wax processing, micro-waxes reduce
processing temperatures, minimise filament breakage risks, and improve melt
flow properties. ‌
Paints and Coatings
Micronized wax (such as polytetrafluoroethylene wax) enhance paint anti-
blocking properties, abrasion resistance, and hydrophobicity. They are
commonly used in wood finishes and industrial coatings to prevent surface
scratches and enhance gloss.
