Micronized wax is a vital functional additive in industrial paint processing,
with primary functions and mechanisms as follows:
Enhancing abrasion resistance and scratch resistance: Micronized wax
particles migrate to the paint film surface during film formation, creating a
protective layer that reduces direct external force impact, significantly
increasing the number of passes in RCA abrasion resistance testing.
‌Improved slip and tactile feel: Reduces surface friction coefficient,
delivering a refined, smooth-to-the-touch finish.
‌Anti-blocking and anti-marring: Prevents coating adhesion during stacking or
compression, suitable for packaging, woodwork, automotive interiors, and
similar applications.
‌Matting and gloss control: Certain micro-waxes achieve a matt effect without
compromising transparency.
Dispersion stability and rheology modification: Polyamide wax micropowders
form network structures to prevent pigment settling and enhance application
