The impeller, also known as the rotor, is the rotating part of a centrifugal
pump and is usually made of iron, steel, bronze, brass or aluminum. For many
processing units, it is an extremely important component because it pumps fluid
outward from the center of rotation and transfers it to the pressure inside the
pump casing.
