The Introduction of Petroleum Coke
Petroleum coke is a by-product of delayed coking unit when the raw oil is
cracked at high temperature to produce light oil.The output of petroleum
coke is about 25-30% of the raw oil. Its low calorific value is about 1.5-2
times that of coal, ash content is not more than 0.5%, volatile content is
about 11%, and its quality is close to anthracite

The Application:
1. Low-sulfur, high-quality cooked coke such as needle coke is mainly used
to manufacture ultra-high power graphite electrodes and certain special
carbon products; needle coke is an important material for the development of
new electric furnace steel making technology in the steel making industry.
2. Medium-sulfur, ordinary cooked coke, used in aluminum smelting in large
quantities.
3.High-sulfur, ordinary green coke is used in chemical production, such as
the manufacture of calcium carbide, silicon carbide, etc., and also as a
fuel for metal casting, etc.
