Prosthetic Pneumatic Knee Joint

This multi-centered prosthetic knee joint with pneumatic swing phase control
provides reliable standing phase safety for users with moderate activity levels.
The smooth and powerful single-chamber pneumatics (each chamber for flexion and
extension damping) does not run out of air during the swing phase, even at
different walking speeds. Smooth flexion and extension movements can be achieved,
resulting in an approximation of the physiological gait pattern. The prosthetic
knee joint geometry here effectively shortens the prosthesis during oscillation,
thereby increasing ground clearance.
