Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (HCl) powder is a white, odorless
crystalline substance primarily used as a potent active pharmaceutical
ingredient (API) in nasal and sinus decongestant medications. It
shrinks swollen nasal mucous membranes

Mechanism: As an alpha-adrenergic agonist, it constricts blood vessels
in the nasal passages to relieve congestion.
Physical Profile: It occurs as a white, crystalline powder that is very
freely soluble in water. It melts between 182-185°C
Regulation: Because it is structurally similar to amphetamine and can
be misused in the illicit synthesis of methamphetamine, it is strictly
tracked and regulated globally.
