A media retention nozzle is a precision-engineered filtration component that retains filtering media in place while allowing fluid to pass through. These nozzles are commonly installed in filtration systems where granular media (such as sand, gravel, or activated carbon) or ion-exchange resins are employed. The media retention nozzle is integrated into the false bottom filter. The false bottom refers to a supporting structure at the base of a filter vessel, designed to hold filtration media in place and ensure liquid flow through the system. How Media Retention Nozzles Work In a typical false bottom filter setup, the filter media lies above the nozzles, which are embedded in a perforated or slotted plate. The nozzles allow fluids (such as water or chemical solutions) to flow evenly through the media bed, facilitating the filtering process, while preventing media particles from escaping into the downstream system. Each filter nozzle is manufactured with a wedge wire screen creating a continuous and uniform slot. It acts as a physical barrier, keeping the media particles larger than the openings in place. This design ensures that the filter bed remains intact, promoting longer filter life and higher efficiency.
