Steel Socket Weld Flange
Socket weld flanges, also known as SW flanges, have a recessed area (like a shoulder) in the flange bore. This shoulder serves as a guide to set the depth of the pipe that is inserted into the flange. Socket weld flanges are a less common but equally effective connection for flanges that require less overall available space than a traditional weld neck flange, with a counterbore in the center to allow for a clean weld of pipe into the socket. The advantage of socket weld flanges is their simple design; they are well- suited for small pipe size applications, and for non-critical applications, e.g., non-hazardous systems; they are not suitable for highly erosive or corrosive systems. Socket welded flange including RF type and RTJ type, which like other types of welding flanges (slip-on, weld neck, or blind flange). Socket Weld Flanges Application: Socket weld flanges are commonly used in high-pressure piping systems such as chemical processing, petrochemical refining, oil and gas, and power generation systems. These flanges efficiently connect pipes to valves, fittings, and equipment while offering high reliability and safety. In some instances, socket weld flanges are used in small-bore piping systems such as steam, air, water, and gas pipelines where high pressure and temperatures exist. Key Features: Material: Manufactured using superior quality steel, offering high strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. Sizes: Available in diverse sizes to accommodate various pipe diameters. Custom sizes also available on request. Standards: Complies with ASME B16.5 and B16.47 standards, ensuring high-quality and compatibility with a wide range of pipe fittings. Design: The recessed design of the socket weld flange allows for precise alignment of the pipe and flange, reducing the risk of leakage. Applications: Perfect for high-pressure applications and smaller pipe sizes. Widely used in industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, and more. Socket welded flange including RF type and RTJ type, which like other types of welding flanges (slip-on, weld neck, or blind flange). Socket Weld Flange vs Slip On Flange Socket welded flange shape is similar to slip on flange, differently it has a shoulder at the inner bore. Slip On Flange – No shoulder at inner bore. Socket weld flange static strength is equal to slip on flange, but it’s fatigue strength is 50% higher than the double welded slip on flange. With our Steel Socket Weld Flanges, you can expect a high-quality, reliable solution for your piping system needs. We are dedicated to delivering products that not only meet but exceed industry standards. Minimum Order: 100 Contact:

Forged NPT Threaded Flange
Dimensions: ASME/ANSI B16.5, ASME B16.47, GOST 12820, EN1092, GOST 12821, GOST 33259 What is a threaded flange? A forged threaded flange(also called companion flanges/screw flanges / NPT flanges/TH flanges) is a type of pipe flange that features internal threads on its bore, allowing it to be directly screwed onto the external threads of a pipe. This design eliminates the need for welding, making it a convenient choice for pipes that cannot be welded or in situations where welding is not desirable. Key Features & Applications 1. Welding-Free Connection – Perfect for explosive or flammable environments (e.g., petrol stations, chemical plants) where welding sparks pose a risk. 2. Easy Installation & Maintenance – Can be quickly assembled or disassembled compared to welded flanges. 3. Cost-Effective for Small Pipes – Typically used for ½” to 6” pipes, though larger sizes (up to 24”) are available upon request. The amount of additional machining and labor hours that go into producing a larger diameter threaded connection makes them less popular than slip-on flanges or weld neck flanges. 4. Limited to Low-Pressure/Low-Temperature Use – Best suited for non-toxic fluids and moderate conditions, as threads may weaken under high heat or pressure. 5. Face Types – Only available with flat face (FF) or raised face (RF) finishes, not suitable for high-pressure ring-type joints. Forged slip-on SO flange hot sales
Steel pipe Slip-On (SO) Flanges are engineered for high performance in low- pressure applications, suitable for petrochemical, oil & gas, and water treatment. Meet ASME B16.5 and B16.47 standards and more. Brand: JS FITTINGS Place of Origin: CHINA Material: carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel Standard: ANSI/ASME B16.5, EN 1092, GOST33259, BS, DIN, SABS Surface Treatment: anti-rust oil, black painting, yellow painting What is a slip-on flange? Slip-on flanges, also known as ‘hubbed flanges’, have a hub with a very low profile. This slip-on flange is usually connected to a pipe by one or two fillet welds (one outside the flange and one inside the flange), it is, however, possible to use only a single weld. The connection is typically secured with two fillet welds—one on the outer and one on the inner side of the flange. For less critical applications, a single external weld can suffice. This welding method, however, does not create a full-penetration bond, which makes slip-on flanges the ideal choice for lower- pressure and lower-risk environments. Their design makes them a common sight in utility lines for cooling water, firefighting, low-pressure compressed air, and process lines carrying substances like steam, oil, and gas. A key design feature of a slip-on flange is its internal diameter, which is slightly larger than the pipe’s outer diameter, enabling the “slip-on” fit. While their weld integrity is lower than that of a welding neck flange, they offer a significant advantage in tight spaces. However, if a welding neck flange cannot be used due to space limitations, a slip-on flange may be a suitable alternative. When you need a robust and dependable connection, quality is non-negotiable. Our slip-on (SO) flanges are designed to slide over the pipe and be welded securely, creating a lasting seal. Every flange we supply conforms to the rigorous ASME B16.5 and B16.47 standards, ensuring your system meets critical safety and operational requirements. Key Features: Material: High-quality steel that ensures durability and resistance to corrosion. Sizes: Available in a range of sizes to fit different pipe diameters. Custom sizes can also be created upon request. Standards: Manufactured according to ASME B16.5 and B16.47 standards, guaranteeing quality and compatibility with various pipe fittings. Ease of Installation: Slides easily over the pipe and secures with welding, providing a robust and reliable connection. Applications: Ideal for use in lower pressure applications and suitable for industries such as petrochemical, oil & gas, water treatment, and more. Choosing the Right Type of Slip-On Flange for Your Project SO flanges are available in two primary designs, each engineered to solve specific challenges within a piping system: 1. Standard (Raised Face) Slip-On Flanges This is the most common type, featuring a “raised face” on the sealing surface. This slightly elevated platform is crucial because it concentrates the bolt-tightening pressure onto the gasket, creating an exceptionally reliable seal. This design is highly effective and recommended for low-pressure systems where preventing leaks is a top priority. 2. Lap Joint Slip-On Flanges The lap joint configuration consists of a flat-faced flange that works with a separate backing flange and a lap joint stub end. After the stub end is welded to the pipe, the backing flange can slide and rotate freely. This clever design offers unmatched flexibility, simplifying the alignment of bolt holes during installation or maintenance. It’s the perfect solution for systems that require frequent dismantling or those that experience thermal expansion and contraction. Trust JSFITTINGS for Industry-Leading Flanges! Lap Joint Flange hot sales from China factory
Lap joint flanges are available in many sizes and classes; they are also suitable for elevated temperatures and pressures. Lap joint flanges have a beveled edge on their inside diameter and fit over a pipe. They are most commonly used with a stub end, which is typically welded to the pipe, leaving the lap joint free to rotate around it. Lap joint flanges are especially useful because they eliminate the possibility of issues with bolt hole alignment. They are often used in applications that require frequent dismantling. JSFITTINGS offers lap joint flanges in accordance with DIN EN 1092-1/02, ASME B16.5, and EN PN 10, available in both carbon steel and stainless steel. What is a Lap Joint flange? Lap Joint flanges are sometimes referred to by other names, including: Stub end flange Loose flange Backing flange Vanstone and Backing Ring Van Stone flanges. A lap joint flange (LJF) is an assembly of two elements involving a stub end and a lap joint ring flange (also called a ‘lap joint flange’). To be technically correct, the stub end is not part of a lap joint flange. However, a lap joint flange is always used in conjunction with a stub end, so both parts are often collectively referred to as a ‘lap joint flange’. Lap joint flanges are suitable for piping systems, allowing easy disassembly, while rolled angle rings are suitable for structural applications to create curved or rounded shapes within various structures. Lap Joint flanges are very similar to Slip On flanges. However, Lap Joint flanges include a radius at the intersection of the flange face that is made to accommodate the flared portion of the Stub End, making it only compatible with Stub Ends. Materials for Lap Joint flanges and Lap Joint Stub Ends vary and may even differ in a single implementation to allow for greater cost flexibility. Materials typically used for Lap Joint flanges include a range of stainless steel, carbon steel, and other alloy materials. Lap Joint Flange ASME B16.5 Lap joint flanges are available in many sizes and classes; they are also suitable for elevated temperatures and pressures. Generally, a lap joint flange can be used for the same applications as a welding neck flange. These flanges are available in common dimensions like other flange types, making it easy to integrate them into existing piping systems or use them alongside other piping components. Stub Ends also match both pipe material and wall schedule to maintain both inside and outside diameters of your piping process. This style is typically used in engineered piping systems with critical wall thickness requirements. The advantages of the lap joint flange design are: 1. Inexpensive. 2. Well-suited for corrosive applications. 3. Requires only a single full penetration butt weld. 4. Only the stub end has contact with the process medium 5. It can be easily adjusted to align with the mating flange (the flange can be rotated until the bolt holes align). 6. It is available in almost all pipe diameters. 7. Ideal for systems where frequent disassembly of the flange is required, e.g., when cleaning or inspection is required. There are some limitations on the lap joint flange’s usage, mostly due to its bulkier multiple-component design. Lap joint flanges cannot be used for small- sized piping. As a leading manufacturer of carbon steel pipe fittings and flanges across China, JSFITTINGS has more than 35 years of experience serving industries of all sizes. Our expert sales analysts are available today to help you choose the ideal lap joint flanges or rolled angle rings for your needs.
