Physical & Chemical Properties: This product is an amber or brown viscous oily
liquid, insoluble in water but soluble in hot oil and organic solvents.
It is a W/O type surfactant compound with excellent emulsification and low-
temperature dispersion properties, which can significantly improve the matrix
structure, detonation performance, and storage stability of emulsion
explosives.
Span 80, chemically known as Sorbitan Monooleate, is a low-HLB, non-ionic
surfactant widely used as a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsifier system. It is
typically formulated as a mixture of emulsifier, co-emulsifier, and emulsion
promoter, designed to deliver excellent emulsification, dispersion, and long-
term stability in demanding industrial formulations.
With its strong lipophilic nature and reliable performance under low-
temperature and complex processing conditions, Span 80 Emulsifier has become an
essential emulsifier in emulsion explosives, pesticide formulations, and
cosmetics & personal care products.
