Usage of Beeswax
Cosmetics and Personal Care: Beeswax is a natural emulsifier and thickener,
commonly used in the production of lip balms, lotions, face creams, and
handmade soaps. It adds the right amount of firmness to products and forms a
protective layer on the skin’s surface to lock in moisture. Adding beeswax
to handmade soaps also makes them more durable and less prone to softening.
Household and Industrial Uses: Beeswax is an essential raw material for
manufacturing high-quality candles, crayons, floor wax, shoe polish, and
various polishes. After modification, it can also be processed into
industrial greases; because it is non-toxic, it is particularly well-suited
for the lubrication and maintenance of food or medical equipment.
Agriculture and Beekeeping: In agriculture, beeswax is used to make grafting
wax for fruit trees and insect traps. In beekeeping, it is an essential
material for making foundation sheets and wax cups.
