World’s First GW-Level Perovskite Module Mass Production Line Goes into Ope

The world’s first gigawatt (GW)-scale perovskite photovoltaic (PV) module mass
production line, built by Jidian Solar, has officially begun operations in
Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. As a
major provincial project, the facility is expected to produce approximately 1.8
million perovskite PV modules annually at full capacity, marking a significant
step toward the large-scale commercialization of perovskite technology and the
transition to greener, low-carbon energy solutions.
Amid the accelerating global shift to renewable energy, perovskite PV
technology is gaining attention as the “next-generation photovoltaic
solution,” offering high efficiency, lower costs, a smaller carbon footprint,
transparency, and flexibility—features that position it as a potential game-
changer over traditional crystalline silicon technology. Jidian Solar’s GW-
scale production line is currently the world’s largest operational facility
for perovskite module manufacturing, integrating cutting-edge technology and
equipment. The company has developed its proprietary “Jichuang+” system to
address key industry challenges, including large-area module fabrication,
efficiency enhancement, and long-term stability.
