self-balancing multistage pump is an energy-efficient and high-performance
multistage pump suitable for conveying clean water, corrosive liquids, oils, or
media containing particles. It is widely used in mining, factories, urban water
supply and drainage, boiler feed water, chemical processing, and oil extraction
industries.
The pump features symmetrically arranged impellers to counteract axial forces,
achieving self-balancing without the need for a balance disc structure. With no
friction or backflow losses from balancing devices, it delivers high operational
efficiency. The pump casing adopts a horizontal sectional design, allowing
adjustment of the required head by increasing or decreasing the number of stages.
Working principle and structural features
Self-Balancing Principle: The pump employs symmetrically arranged impeller rotor
components, where the axial thrust generated by the forward and reverse sets of
impellers largely cancels each other during operation, achieving "self-balancing"
of axial forces. The residual axial force is supported by a pair of back-to-back
angular contact ball bearings. This design completely eliminates the need for
balance discs or balance drums found in traditional multistage pumps, avoiding
failures such as balance disc wear or rotor seizure caused by the malfunction of
balancing devices. ‌‌
Main structural components:
Inlet section, middle section, outlet section, secondary inlet section.
Forward impeller, reverse impeller, forward guide vane, reverse guide vane.
Shaft, throttling pressure reducing device, bearing body, transition pipe, etc.
Sealing types: The shaft can be sealed with either mechanical or packing seals,
allowing the pump to replace bearings and seals without disassembling the inlet and
outlet pipelines.
