The Piston Process
Step 1: 100% Laser Inspection of the as-received OD ensures the correct amount
of material is applied, thus yielding the finished dimension desired.

Step 2: Computer-controlled application of the Permanently Bonded Band
material.

Step 3: 100% Laser Inspection of the OD ensures the desired finished dimension
is obtained after process curing the band material.

Step 4: Apply Permanently Bonded 100% pass-thru gauging of each finished piston
to assure the piston meets Form-Fit and Functional requirements prior to
packaging. Band material via computer controlled metering.

Step 5: Product ready for assembly.

Xia Yi, found in 2006, after several years’ effort, we have achieved great
success in the enterprise. We increased our workshop this year and developed
several new automatic machines which highly improve work efficiency. We have a
technical team to develop automatic machine and we improve our pressing machine
and other machines to lower the cost and improve efficiency.

XIAYI company is specialized in design and producing PTFE banded shock absorber
pistons,at the same time,we design and manufacture automatic skirting machines.
Till now we have produced so many different types of shock absorber pistons
with the diameter from ø20mm~ø50mm.We make PTFE discs and toolings in our own
factory,can control the quality effectively and also can save much time.


Advantages
The ability to apply the same technology across all types and sizes of pistons
affords economies not available with other conventional band methodologies.

100% inspection and close tolerance permits part-to-part and unit-to-unit
control of damping forces.

The quality of the material applied eliminates fragment contamination - oil
tests following one million cycle bench testing have yielded near original oil
quality. This is not typical on units employing a conventional band system.

Close tolerance control affords the closest fit, calibrated leakage around the
piston, eliminating potential leak paths and/or uncontrolled leaks due to
normal flexible bands distorting and wearing.

No machining cost eliminates the cost to groove the OD of the piston to retain
the band.
