AAK Hydraulic Cartridge Needle Valve Optimization Trick

Peder is from a hydraulic equipment company in Peru. They mainly focus on
logistics transmission hydraulic equipment. At the beginning of this year,
customers complained about the unstable control and inaccurate positioning of
the lifting hydraulic power unit they sold. The after-sales server judged on
site that the problem was caused by the hydraulic cartridge needle valve in the

AAK engineers found that the original hydraulic cartridge needle valve design
had shortcomings, and suggested a solution. Peder saw the hope and asked AAK to
optimize the original design and make samples. After 45 days, AAK sent 40
hydraulic cartridge needle valves.

Yesterday, Peder sent an email to inform that after using AAK hydraulic
cartridge needle valves, the equipment has been running for more than 6 months.
The customer has no complaints about unstable control and inaccurate
positioning. AAK engineers only used a 6mm chamfer to remove the hidden danger
of the original hydraulic cartridge needle valve. The overall flow coefficient
of the hydraulic cartridge needle valve is required to increase with the
increase of the opening. The inclination of the flow passage will have an
impact on the pressure control of the throttle structure. The chamfering can
reduce the generation of eddy currents, which guarantees the stability of the
hydraulic cartridge needle valve from the source.

AAK processed a 6mm chamfer at the chamfer position of the flow passage. This
small trick reduced the average turbulent kinetic energy by 73%, reduced the
pressure drop distributed at the outlet, and ensured the stability of the
hydraulic cartridge needle valve. The flow can be adjusted steplessly to move
or rise accurately and controllably under load, and the positioning is
accurate.
