AAK Hydraulic Pilot Operated Relief Valves Angle Error of 0.06°

Fischer comes from a Spanish hydraulic equipment manufacturing company and is
an experienced purchaser. Unexpectedly, the hydraulic pilot operated relief
valves purchased last year made him depressed for more than 1 month. In August
last year, the sales of one of their hydraulic power units was not
satisfactory, and there were several complaints about unstable supply and
pressure. The problem is that the angle error of the inner cone of the
hydraulic pilot operated relief valve is large. The original manufacturer of
the hydraulic pilot operated relief valves advised that this is an individual
problem. But after replacement with new one, there are more and more
complaints. The boss was very angry and requested Fischer to purchase a new
batch of hydraulic pilot operated relief valves for replacement within 45 days.
Fischer contacted with many hydraulic cartridge valve manufacturers and
required that the angle error range of the cone inside the sleeve of the
hydraulic pilot operated relief valves must be 100% controlled within ± 0.08
°. However, 1 week has passed and no one of these hydraulic valve
manufacturers is willing to accept the order. Fischer was depressed and
worried.

Introduced by his friend Trinidad, an old customer of AAK, Fischer sent me an
e-mail. According to his drawings of hydraulic pilot operated relief valve, as
long as the angle error of the conical surface in the valve sleeve is solved,
the unstable pressure supply of the hydraulic power unit can be solved. 1 month
later, AAK sent 100 hydraulic pilot operated relief valves.

Last week, Fischer informed by email that since AAK hydraulic pilot operated
relief valves were used, there was no complaint about unstable pressure supply.
Their engineers specially tested the internal cone angle of the hydraulic
relief valves, which was 25% higher than their accuracy requirements and 100%
controlled within 0.06°. Fischer was curious that the internal cone angle
error of 0.06° could not be solved by many hydraulic valve manufacturers, but
AAK exceeded the standard for 25%.

As early as 3 years ago, AAK engineers innovated the precision machining of
valve body. First, they established a manufacturing error model to control the
error range of the angle of the inner cone below 0.06° and the maximum axial
grinding tolerance of the corresponding sealing circle below 2μm. At the same
time, a special detection device is innovated to improve the detection accuracy
through error correction and ensure the stability of grinding manufacturing
accuracy. The inner conical surface of the hydraulic pilot operated relief
valve sleeve adopts the finishing process of carbonitriding and post grinding
to accurately control the grinding amount. The key is to control the grinding
amount. If the grinding amount of the inner cone surface is too large, it will
result in the reduction of hardness, and the service life of the hydraulic
pilot operated relief valve will be reduced, which leads to unstable pressure
supply.
