AAK solve the squeal of hydraulic cartridge relief valve with a small trick

Chapman comes from a hydraulic equipment manufacturing company in Italy. He has
been in the company for 3 years and is highly regarded by his boss. However,
the hydraulic pilot relief valves purchased at the beginning of the year has
been in a big trouble, which makes his boss more and more disappointed with
him. They sold a batch of hydraulic power units, and there was squeal or
vibration. They judged that it was caused by the abnormality of the hydraulic

equipment complained by customers. Last week, Chapman sent a PO for 360

Different hydraulic relief valves have different causes of squeal, it needs a
case by case analysis. Our engineer found that the dynamic performance of this
hydraulic relief valve was not very smooth, so he set dynamic damping in its
valve spool cavity. This damping and spring cavity constitute a first-order
inertial link. The turning frequency is higher than the natural frequency of
the second-order oscillating link of the valve spool, which can form an inter
stage dynamic pressure feedback, improve the dynamic process, and effectively
reduce the vibration of the dynamic process. The greater the vibration, the
stronger the damping effect.
