Ball Lenses

Ball Lenses are commonly used to improve signal quality in fiber coupling
applications, or for use in endoscopy or bar code scanning applications. Ball
Lenses feature short back focal lengths to minimize the distance needed from
the Ball Lens to the optical fiber. Our Optics offers a variety of Ball Lenses
in a range of substrates for performance in the ultraviolet to the NIR.
Optical glass lenses Application
Fiber coupling: Ball lenses efficiently couple light between fibers or from
fibers to detectors, enhancing the efficiency of telecommunications and data
transmission by precisely focusing and directing light.
Laser alignment: They are used to collimate laser beams to ensure that the
light travels along parallel paths, which is critical for laser scanning,
measurement, and alignment systems.
