Cooling Tower Fills (Filler Media)

The Cooling Tower Fills (Filler Media) is the core heat exchange component of
the cooling tower, which maximizes the contact area and time between water and
air, allowing hot water to form a uniform water film. Through evaporation and
convection heat dissipation, it accounts for more than 70% of the total heat
dissipation, directly determining the cooling efficiency.
Mainstream materials and characteristics
1. PVC (polyvinyl chloride, most commonly used)
-Temperature resistance: ≤ 65 ℃
-Corrosion resistance: pH 4-9, resistant to general acid and alkali, good
hydrophilicity, easy to form, low price.
-Applicable: air conditioning, civilian, and general industrial (inlet water ≤
45 ℃).
-Lifespan: 5-8 years, susceptible to high and low temperatures, becoming
brittle and prone to aging.
2. PP (polypropylene, preferred for high temperature)
-Temperature resistance: ≤ 100 ℃, low temperature resistance  -35 ℃.
-Corrosion resistance: acid and alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance,
aging resistance, high strength and good toughness.
-Applicable: High temperature industry, chemical industry, oily wastewater,
coastal high chlorine environment.
-Lifespan: 8-15 years, priced 30% -50% higher than PVC.
