AAK make the groove of hydraulic relief valve with UG CAD module

Our hydraulic valve customer Pablo from the Netherlands has an order for
hydraulic relief valves. Although the order qty is only 800, it requires very
high precision of grooves. He asked me for a quotation at the first time, but
he thought that the quotation of AAK hydraulic relief valve was 20% higher. I
also agreed with him to check with the price other hydraulic relief valve
manufacturers. Pablo consulted all the hydraulic valve suppliers on hand, and
most of them said that they could not achieve the groove accuracy of the
hydraulic relief valve drawing. Only 2 factories could have a try, but the
price was at least 60% higher than that of the conventional hydraulic relief
valves. Moreover, only after the sample was made, they could know whether the
groove accuracy could meet the standard. Pablo was a little confused. After
wasting a week, he returned to AAK Hydraulic Valve.

Pablo was surprised that most manufacturers could not do the groove precision
of hydraulic relief valve, which seemed to be a very conventional process. I
told him that the cutting and processing area of this hydraulic relief valve
was closed, with high resistance of the cutting tools, fast wear and tear, and
difficult chip removal. The groove precision was even more difficult to ensure,
that is, the conventional processing technology was not feasible, which was
also the reason why so many hydraulic relief valve manufacturers gave up. At
the same time, I told him that the two hydraulic relief valve manufacturers who
were willing to try were 60% more expensive because they used high-speed
milling to avoid tool damage and improve groove accuracy. This technology is
not only costly, but also has very strict requirements for the entire
processing system. Otherwise, the accuracy cannot be guaranteed, and most
manufacturers cannot control this technology.

Pablo was surprised by our understanding of the industry. It seems that he can
only choose AAK to make the samples. Two weeks later, we successfully sent 6
samples of hydraulic relief valve. Their engineers approved AAK hydraulic
relief valve samples at one time after receiving them. I fed back to Pablo that
AAK adopted UG CAD module to solve this processing problem. No hydraulic relief
valve manufacturer in Ningbo would think of using this technology.

This technical point is imported from Germany. The CAD module of UG is used to
model the geometric parameters of the groove, and then the CAM module of UG is
used to NC program the machining of the groove of the hydraulic relief valve.
The tool path and cutting method are set by programming. The NC program thus
obtained can carry out the precise machining of the groove and solve the
problem of chip removal. The reason why AAK can effectively deal with the high-
precision machining of hydraulic relief valve groove is that after generating
the tool path of machined parts, the whole process is simulated by using the
simulation function of UG software. Our technicians can clearly see the
processing path of the processing tool, that is, turn the closed area into a
visible area. After the simulation, determine the tool direction through UG
software, and then import it into the file of the NC machine tool to generate
the code for executing the command.
