Galvanized Steel Grating

Galvanized steel grating can be divided into hot-dip galvanized steel grating
and cold-dip galvanized (electro-galvanized) steel grating according to
different processes. Hot-dip galvanized steel grating is a more commonly used
type because of its long service life and excellent performance. Although the
cost of cold-dip galvanized (electro-galvanized) steel grating is lower than
that of hot-dip galvanizing, it has poor anti-corrosion performance and high
long-term maintenance and use costs.
Galvanized steel grating is a grid-like building material made of low-carbon
steel bearing bars and twisted square steel welded horizontally and vertically.
Its surface is galvanized to form a dense zinc-iron alloy layer, which enhances
corrosion resistance and service life.

2. Bearing bar thickness: usually 2 mm - 12 mm , common thicknesses are 2 mm, 3
mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm, etc. Steel gratings of different
thicknesses are suitable for different occasions, such as 2 mm thickness is
suitable for sidewalks, stair treads and other places, while 10 mm thickness is
suitable for factory workshops, docks and other places that need to bear heavy
loads.
3. Bearing bar width: 20mm - 100mm as required .
4. Bearing bar spacing: generally 30mm-100mm, common apertures are 30mm, 40mm,
50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 80mm, 90mm and 100mm, etc. Steel gratings with different
apertures are suitable for different drainage and load-bearing requirements.
5. Crossbar spacing: Crossbars are usually made of smaller round steel ,
twisted square steel or bearing bar . The diameter of the round steel is
generally 6-10mm, such as 6mm and 8mm round steel crossbars. The spacing of the
crossbars is mostly between 50-300mm, such as 100mm, 150mm, etc.
6. Zinc layer thickness : There are many options for the zinc layer thickness
of galvanized steel grating , ranging from 40g/m² to 610 g/m². The thickness of
the zinc layer is an important indicator to measure its anti-corrosion
performance. The thicker the zinc layer, the stronger the corrosion resistance
of the steel grating, and it is suitable for more severe environments.
