This makes it suitable for use in waterproofing materials, packaging paper coatings, and casting wax. ‌Grease thickener‌: Due to its high gel strength, microcrystalline wax is commonly used as a thickener in instrument greases, sealants, and petroleum jelly. ‌Rubber and Plastic Processing‌: A blend of paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax can serve as an anti-cracking agent for rubber, preventing surface chalking and cracking, and aiding in demolding; it can also be added to plastics, textiles, and leather.
